Fall has arrived and I have still been dedicated to wellness. I will not allow myself to get back to 340 pounds ever again. I’m at the stage where I can walk into any store and grab my size for the first time in years. To give you the backstory, my old pants waist, and shirt sizes was 46 and 3X. I would have to purchase my clothes online constantly or take trips to XL stores. My clothes really looked like maternity clothes for men. Today, I’m currently down to an XL shirt and Size 38 pants after 17 months of hard work. To think, it all started with my Apple Watch.

As a gadget lover, I fell in love with the apple watch so it can be apart of my Apple ecosystem. With Apple, I love how everything is sync together and now having the apple watch was adding another piece of the puzzle. At the time, the Activity app was just a bonus feature that I really didn’t care about.

Fast forward to the end of my last article, I started getting proficient with my nutrition. My goal was to lose weight every week. In about two weeks I have lost 20 pounds on learning how to eat within my macros. Granted that most it was water weight, it started my journey of #NoMoreFatCarl. I knew it was time to get out of my own way and go back to working out. But I needed to think of a plan that will keep me motivated to lose weight. At that moment, my Apple Watch sent me a notification stating that I hit all three of my goals with Calories, Excercise, and Stands for the day!

Fun fact: 1 Pound of body fat equals 3,500 Calories.

So I started thinking, “If I can burn 500 Calories a day, my man boobs will go away!” I hated every picture of myself because it looked like I needed a bra. So I hid from social media because I was ashamed of my body. I knew at this moment I was building a goal and I was done with the lose weight quick schemes. I really wanted to educate myself on wellness. I wanted to take pictures without cropping my body. I wanted to be able to keep up with my daughter. I wanted to find the man that my wife fell in love with years ago. I wanted to live like never before. I wanted #NOMOREFATCARL. That day a goal was made, I’m going to lose 100 pounds by my 30th birthday. I was stoked, I set up my apple watch health app and inserted my new daily goals. But where to begin?

That’s where I found Nike Training Club.

I work in an office environment so I wasn’t able to move much and mentally I wasn’t ready for the gym. So I needed to find something that motivated me to get active and educate me on new workouts. That’s when I found Nike Training Club, an App by Nike for iOS ( Android as well). What really appealed to me about this app was that outside of choosing a workout from Strength, Endurance and Mobility categories, it also created a workout plan designed specifically for you.

The plans are split up into four programs:

Start Up ( 4 Weeks) This is was the first plan I did and highly recommend for everyone.
Lean Fit ( 6 Weeks)
Body Weight Only ( 4 Weeks)
Gym Strong ( 8 Weeks)

So once you select a plan that fits you, Nike will organize a weekly schedule which will consist of your workout days and rest days for you. You can play your music playlists from Apple Music (Google Play) as you workout to keep motivated. Highly recommend some wireless headphones when doing these workouts.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

I know that there are multiple workout apps out there but this was the one that started my fitness journey. You should check it out, it’s free! Thank us later 😉

With the proper nutrition, the Apple Watch, and Nike Training Club, this extended my weight loss from 20 pounds down to 50 pounds down within 3 months. Be sure to check back to read what I did next for my final 50 pounds of my 100-pound goal!
